Beattie Air Nears Completion of HVAC Installation for MITRE 10 Mega Beckenham

We are proud to announce that our team is nearing the successful completion of our work on the new MITRE 10 Mega Beckenham project at 32 Montreal Street, Sydenham. This 13,000 m² retail development is one of the largest retail builds in Christchurch to date and will be four times the size of the existing Beckenham store. This exciting project marks another significant milestone in our portfolio of large-scale commercial installations.

About the Project

The new MITRE 10 Mega Beckenham is set to be a game-changer in Christchurch’s retail landscape. Featuring a vast warehouse, a café, a children’s play area, a drive-through, and an expansive garden centre, the development has been a complex and multifaceted project. Our team has been at the heart of ensuring that this massive facility will maintain a comfortable and energy-efficient indoor environment.

Innovative HVAC Solutions

Under the expert leadership of Grant Holton, we have successfully installed state-of-the-art climate control systems to meet the varied needs of this large-scale facility. Key installations include:

• Temperzone Air Handling Units (AHUs): These large AHUs have been installed on the roof to provide effective climate control throughout the expansive warehouse area.
• Mitsubishi City Multi Cassette Systems: Designed specifically for the office spaces, these systems ensure that staff and visitors enjoy a comfortable indoor environment, no matter the season.

These solutions have been carefully selected to provide efficient and reliable climate control, ensuring a balance between comfort and energy savings across the entire building.

Looking Ahead

Following the completion of our installation, Beattie Air will manage the maintenance of the HVAC systems in the new MITRE 10 Mega Beckenham for the next 12 months. With our existing maintenance contracts across several other Mitre10 buildings in Christchurch, we are optimistic about securing the ongoing maintenance contract for this site as well.
