Beattie Air is proud to have been part of the Waimakariri Sports Hub, an impressive 6,468m² multi-use sports and fitness facility in Rangiora, delivered in collaboration with Leighs Construction.

This $28M development, built by the Waimakariri District Council, is a key addition to the region’s sporting infrastructure, catering to both local athletes and major sporting events.

A State-of-the-Art Sports Facility

MainPower Stadium is a world-class multi-use sports and fitness hub, incorporating:

Four full-sized sports courts designed for multiple sporting codes
Seating for up to 700 spectators, allowing for major sporting events
Community fitness centre and group fitness studios
Juice/coffee hub for visitors and athletes
Sports health provider treatment rooms
Dedicated sports administration offices and multi-function meeting rooms

Beattie Air’s Contribution

Our team successfully delivered a comprehensive climate control solution, ensuring optimal temperature and air quality for athletes, spectators, and staff. Key challenges included:

Balancing efficiency with performance, designing an HVAC system that could adapt to varying occupancy levels across different spaces
Integrating advanced BMS controls to provide intelligent climate management throughout the facility
Coordinating with multiple stakeholders, ensuring all HVAC installations aligned with the fast-paced construction schedule

By incorporating Temperzone AHUs for ventilation and Daikin systems for heating and cooling, we ensured an energy-efficient and high-performing environment suitable for a premier sports facility.

The result is a state-of-the-art complex that provides athletes and the wider community with a comfortable, well-ventilated space to train, compete, and gather.
