Invercargill Mall

A significant project undertaken for Amalgamated Builders Limited, the new
Invercargill Mall project, spanning 10,561 square meters, this large commercial development was completed on time from 2021 to 2023.

The project (located outside of Canterbury) and constructed during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the industry’s supply chain was at their worst, we managed to keep this project on track and deliver on schedule. The project demanded a highly detailed set of shop drawings, to ensure precision installation of the equipment.
The project involved the installation of advanced Roof Packaged Units (RPU), Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems, and a sophisticated Building Management System (BMS). In addition to the main building mechanical services, Beattie Air designed and installed 24 tenancy HVAC fit-outs.

This project is now widely recognised as one of the few major projects in New Zealand to be successfully completed on time during the pandemic. The Invercargill Mall project not only won a Gold Award but was also the National Category Winner for the Retail section at the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards and received a Special Award for the project.
