Innovative Solutions for Rolleston Library

Beattie Air Conditioning has once again demonstrated its ability to deliver cutting-edge HVAC solutions with the successful completion of the Rolleston Library project. Collaborating with Armitage Williams Construction, this significant project covered 4546 square meters and was executed from 2020 to 2022 in Rolleston.

Faced with the challenge of installing HVAC systems in a tightly confined plant room and ceiling void, Beattie Air Conditioning leveraged advanced technologies and innovative strategies to ensure success. The project utilized Variable Air Volume (VAV) Air Handling Units (AHU), Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems, Underfloor Heating (UFH), and a sophisticated Building Management System (BMS). These systems were meticulously designed to provide optimal climate control and energy efficiency, crucial for the library’s functionality and comfort.

One of the standout achievements of this project was the implementation of 3D site coordination. This technique allowed for precise planning and installation, ensuring that all HVAC components fit seamlessly within the restricted spaces. The use of 3D modelling facilitated detailed spatial analysis and clash detection, enabling the team to overcome the spatial constraints without compromising on the quality or performance of the systems.
